Capella Singapore – Sentosa Staycation (April 2013)

If you haven’t already figured it out by now, we love travelling! In fact I’m super happy that my kids also seem to have the same wanderlust as us. But yes I recognize that it is not entirely possible to travel every time wanderlust strikes (which can be pretty often for us :p) And that is why I love staycations! Continue reading

Art Camp @ The Playhouse (Rochester)

We had previously blogged about an Art Camp which The Playhouse at Rochester was organizing for the September school holidays. In fact 2 readers of our blog also won a 2 day Art Camp package which I hope their little ones enjoyed because I know my little one (Jah) did.

Media Invite
While we were invited to take part in the 2 day Art Camp (Fri & Sat), we only managed to attend the session on the second day. Honestly if Jah was a little older and was on a week long school break, I would definitely have brought him for both days (the activities were pretty fun even for a grown up like me!) Birthday Cake Options for a 3 year old – What is allowed and what isn’t

We are fast approaching Jah’s 3rd birthday and what would a birthday be without a birthday cake right? Except we all know that getting a birthday cake for a 3 year old is a mean feat! You see, this is not a 1 year old baby who is not going to be able to eat his cake. This is also not a 2 year old who is just starting to talk and recognize his favourite cartoon characters. This is an opinionated 3 year old whose mind changes everytime you say “ok so you are sure that’s the cake you want?” Worse still, we have to get him TWO cakes, one for his school celebration and one for his home party. Up until recently, these are the combinations that he has requested for.

  • Cars Cake (School), Avengers Cake (Home)
  • Avengers Cake (School), Cars Cake (Home)
  • Mickey Cake with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy and Pete, Donald not allowed to be featured (School), Cars Cake (Home)

How do you help your child deal with bullying

What keeps a mother up at night? A baby you say? Well yes that too..

But what kept me up 2 nights ago and is still bugging me incessantly throughout the day is that fact that Jah woke up sobbing at 2am, telling me that he really doesn’t want to go to school tomorrow. We have had our fair share of Jah procrastinating on Monday mornings and whinning about going to school (especially when weekends are so fun!) But we love school!!! and I have never heard him so desperate to get my buy-in to “not go to school”. Continue reading

Bali with JahBella – Seminyak (Nov 2013)

Our second trip with 2 young kids brought us to Bali in November 2013, just a week after Jah’s 2nd birthday and just as Bella was turning 6 months. Honestly we had no expectations for this trip at all and fully intended to stay in our villa through all 5 days. This was our chance to just relax and bond with both kids and to introduce Bella to her first ‘swim’.

We booked a two bedroom villa (Villa Hibiscus under Serene Villas) in Seminyak, the villa had its own pool and the management arranged for a pool fence so that we didn’t have to worry about Jah jumping in on his own. I can’t tell you how important and helpful a pool fence is especially when danger is not part of a young child’s vocabulary. The package also included breakfast (which the housekeeper would prepared in your villa every morning), 1 hour of in-villa massage for 4 pax and a BBQ set dinner for 1 night.
