Nickelodeon Slime Cup 2016 – Event Listing

Attention all fans of SpongeBob SquarePants, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol! Or at least attention all parents of these little fans!

If you are wondering what to do with the kids this weekend then come join us at the Nickelodeon Slime Cup 2016!

We have been really overwhelmed with getting our new house ready in the past couple of weeks so it feels really great to get back to some ‘normal programming’ with the kids, this coming weekend.

And what better way to usher in a ‘regular weekend’ then some Slime!! I know Joel and Jah are really excited about it…come on, its Slime!!! Girls are made of sugar and spice and well boys I’m pretty sure are made of Slime, green gooey slime! :p

Nickelodeon Slime Cup 2016 will be happening this weekend at City Square Mall.

Besides the Life-sized Foosball, Load ‘n Lift and Slime Sumo, amongst other sporting activities, there’s also fun for the toddlers at stations ranging from the Slime Salon, where kids can adorn themselves with war paint, character silhouettes and tattoos, to the Slime Strike, where kids will have to ready their aim with a slime-filled water gun.

So come join us for this indoor obstacle course event with games, sports, meet & greet sessions and did I say Slime already? :p

Remember to bring an extra change of clothes for the family 😉

SpongeBob SquarePants Krabby Patty Celebration ‘Live’ On Stage (City Square Mall- Christmas 2015) – Media Invite

Every year the kids will need to do at least 1 of their Annual Christmas Live Show/ Meet & Greet Sessions at a mall (yes I know they don’t just do it during Christmas ;P) But somehow the ambience is always little merrier and more special during the festive season.

This year they chose to attend the SpongeBob SquarePants Krabby Patty Celebration ‘Live’ On Stage at City Square Mall. Honestly they aren’t really fans of SpongeBob or at the very least have not been exposed to the cartoon series yet. However SpongeBob and his best friend Patrick in their larger than life costumes were so infectiously funny that the kids were drawn to them really quickly.

The thing I love about the shows at City Square Mall is that you don’t find yourself ‘queuing’ or waiting for 1-2 hours, only to find that the show is 10 minutes long or that the characters appear for 2 dance numbers and then leave abruptly.

SpongeBob’s little party was approximately 20-30 minutes long if you include the prelude/ skit we enjoyed before the main characters came on stage. Yes there was a prelude! Which was also Jah’s first time on stage in front of a live audience at a mall! I think I was more nervous than him but he was all game to go onstage and help out the nice friendly pirate :p

If you or your kids are fans of SpongeBob and his friends then you shouldn’t miss this Live Show which is ending its run this weekend. And even if you aren’t fans of the yellow spongy fella, there are enough crazy fun, catchy tunes and a storyline for a bit of weekend entertainment.IMG_6794

Alvin and the Chipmunks are back on TV!!!

Don’t we all sometimes wish that our kids will get a chance to watch the cartoons that we grew up with as kids. Well then some of you will be glad to know that Alvin and the Chipmunks are back on TV! 🙂

Nickelodeon and Bagdasarian Productions are bringing Alvin, Simon, Theodore, and The Chipettes back to television in the all-new, CG-animated series. ALVINNN!!!! and The Chipmunks is currently airing every weekends from Saturday, 16 May at 10.30am (TH/WIB), 11am (PH) and 11.30am (HK/SG) and Saturday, 23 May at 9.25am (MY) on Nickelodeon. Season one of the series will feature 52 x 11 minute episodes

ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks follows the friendship of Alvin, Simon, Theodore and The Chipettes as they face growing up and learning new life lessons. Each episode will feature an original song produced by Bagdasarian.

Honestly, my kids aren’t exactly familiar with Alvin, Simon or Theodore, perhaps Jah more so than Bella. But they were definitely excited when they caught a glimpse of what was in their Alvin and the Chipmunks goodie bag (Thanks Nickelodeon Asia!) and wanted to know more about the various characters.

This one probably needs to join the Chipettes :p

This one probably needs to join the Chipettes :p

After countless questions from Jah, I could only muster up the fact that there were 3 boy chipmunks (Alvin, Simon and Theodore) as well as their ‘Uncle’ Dave. When they asked me for the names of the girl chipmunks (The Chipettes), I was drawing blanks. So to help everyone along and to familiarize all of us with the characters from Alvin and the Chipmunks…here are some character descriptions to prep ourselves for our kiddos’ countless questions during the show. 🙂

JahBella’s Mummy

 ALVIN

Alvin

Alvin is full of enthusiasm and confidence…and never does anything halfway! This charming Chipmunk is always coming up with hare-brained schemes—but to him, he’s just daring to be different. Alvin acts on impulse, fully believing in his brilliant vision—until it ends in disaster! But he’s got a good heart, and even when he gets into trouble, he learns some lessons along the way.

SIMON

Simon

Simon is the oldest brother (by all of 8 seconds). He’s got an IQ just north of Einstein’s and a keen, dry sense of humour. His Chess Master brain can predict how Alvin’s schemes will end in disaster—AND figure out the solution. Simon loves Alvin…but it secretly worries him that they share the same gene pool.

THEODORE

Theodore

Theodore is the baby of the group. He’s sweet, shy, and trusting…in other words, an easy target for Alvin’s tricks! But just when you least expect it, Theodore can come up with powerful words of wisdom that actually make Alvin reconsider his hare-brained scheme. (Just not for long.)

DAVE

Dave

Like anyone trying to raise three hyperactive chipmunks, Dave has his patience tested on a daily basis. He juggles being the Chipmunks’ songwriter, father, and confidant. And although he struggles to remain calm, Alvin often pushes him over the edge…which is when you’ll hear his patented yell, ‘ALVINNN!!!’

BRITTANY

Brittany

While she’s no astronomer, Brittany is pretty sure the world revolves around her. She’s a slave to fashion who firmly believes that you are what you wear. True, she might come off as vain and self-centered … but when push comes to shove, Brittany has a heart of gold and does the right thing.

JEANETTE

Jeanette

Jeanette is more interested in understanding the universe than making sure her socks match. She’s a deep thinker, and unlike her sister Brittany, knows that looks aren’t everything. Jeanette is incredibly sweet—but she’s got a steel backbone and will stand up for what she believes is right.

ELEANOR

Eleanor

Eleanor is outgoing and athletic, with a ‘can do’ spirit. No wonder she’s got friends in every social circle. She’s the shortest of her three sisters, The Chipettes… but you can always pick her out in a crowd, just by following the sound of her infectious giggle.
