We caught Hairy Maclary and friends today! Jah’s third play of the week! Unlike the first two plays (The Very Hungry Caterpillar and the Nightingale), Hairy Maclary and friends is an interactive play with music, song and dance.

Tips for your child’s first time at the movies
Yes we finally took the plunge just before Jah hit the “Big 3” :p and I guess largely owing to the fact that there was a suitable movie for his 1st time at the movies! So if you are wondering when to bring your little one for his/her first movie, I guess there is no right or wrong time (some mummies bring their little bubs in carrier while accompanying their older kid). But if we are talking about having your child enjoy the movie from the start to finish and being able to discuss movie plot with you after haha then I suppose 3 years old is the age for us and here are some tips on how we made it out ‘alive’ and really happy! (Jah told me after his movie that he wants to go watch another movie again soon đ ) Continue reading
Why a C-section doesnât make you less of a woman/mother
I often hear women say that they feel like less of a mother or that they donât feel like they have âgiven birthâ because they had a c-section birth and didnât go through labour. And as much as I tell myself that thought is rubbish, I have also had my envious moments when I read/ hear of friends having a natural birth and âbetterâ still go without any pain relief. I suppose this might ring in as one of the top regrets for any c-section mummy if you asked what she wished she could change about her entire pregnancy journey.
Today I read a post online and it slapped some sense back into me. :p While I have to say the post was alittle extreme, it got its point across and got me thinking. Article Link
So while I envy/ admire/ take my hat off to all natural birth mummies, here are some reasons why I feel that a C-section doesnât make you any less a woman or a mother. In fact we should wear our C-section mummy badge with honour! đ Continue reading
Art Camp @ The Playhouse (Rochester)
We had previously blogged about an Art Camp which The Playhouse at Rochester was organizing for the September school holidays. In fact 2 readers of our blog also won a 2 day Art Camp package which I hope their little ones enjoyed because I know my little one (Jah) did.
Media Invite
While we were invited to take part in the 2 day Art Camp (Fri & Sat), we only managed to attend the session on the second day. Honestly if Jah was a little older and was on a week long school break, I would definitely have brought him for both days (the activities were pretty fun even for a grown up like me!) How do you help your child deal with bullying
What keeps a mother up at night? A baby you say? Well yes that too..
But what kept me up 2 nights ago and is still bugging me incessantly throughout the day is that fact that Jah woke up sobbing at 2am, telling me that he really doesnât want to go to school tomorrow. We have had our fair share of Jah procrastinating on Monday mornings and whinning about going to school (especially when weekends are so fun!) But we love school!!! and I have never heard him so desperate to get my buy-in to ânot go to schoolâ. Continue reading
