My Top 4 Kiddy Products of the Moment (Sep 2014)

I have found that at different stages of my baby or child’s growing years, I tend to have a favourite or a few favourite products/ items that make both Joel and my life that much easier. Over the years, we have had things like baby carrier (we love/ loved baby wearing), nasal aspirator for clearing little blocked noses, the ‘special’ milk bottles that either child chose to use (yes they rejected all other brands) and the list goes on. (Oh yes if you are interested to know more about any of the above or the brands that worked for us, feel free to shout)

So what are some of our top items of the moment, well here’s the list and why. Continue reading

Royal Carribean – Legends of the Sea (2012)

Looking back at the list of holidays we have taken with the kids, it suddenly dawned onto me that as first time parents with Jah, we were really quite afraid of travelling overseas. I say that with such disbelief because we love travelling!!! (ok the holidaying part because Joel will tell you that he hates flying!)

With Jah, we had only been on 1 overseas trip (Phuket) by the time the boy turned 1. Bella on the flip side, has been on 4 overseas trip (Penang, Bali, Perth and Hong Kong) and she is 15 months now.

I think we were so fearful of how Jah would be on the plane (he cried like a maniac on his flights to and from Phuket) that we just convinced ourselves to take the path of least resistance. So while we were really craving for time away from home, we decided to try another mode of transportation, a cruise liner! Continue reading

Planes Fire & Rescue (Review) – Jah’s first time at the movies

We caught Planes Fire and Rescue (the sequel to Planes) with Jah today. And you know what people always say about sequels? Well in this instance it isn’t true in fact I enjoyed Planes 2 a lot more than it’s predecessor.

I like how there was a shift in storyline. Rather then just be another sequel on Dusty winning another race, they gave him a career change instead and a very exciting one at that!

In fact the new characters are so awesome that Jah has declared one of them as his favorite. Coincidentally it is also Joel’s favourite but Jah has disallowed that and he has chosen Dusty as a favorite for him. Lucky for me, I get to ‘keep’ my favourite character haha! Continue reading

How to Survive an Eye Test with a 3 Year old

We realised that there was little information available on what to expect during an eye test for kids in Singapore. I mean we know about the usual process when you hit primary school but what if your child under the age of 5 needs a test? Going into the unknown can be very scary for the parents especially if you don’t have any info to prep your child with. I had to google for videos of test conducted in the US and prep him based on that. While at the same time hoping that our processes were similar and as child friendly. Continue reading

Our Precious Moment with Jah – Post Injury

Watching your child enjoying himself in play or while singing a song has got to be every parent’s favorite moment. But it is especially precious when your child has just suffered a head injury and you haven’t seen him smile or talk much in the last 48 hours.

Our precious moment from yesterday (when the pain decided to leave him alone for a few minutes)

Jah convincing me to follow him so that he could take coins from his Papa’s box to fill his own ‘bank’

Jah singing about his new coin collection – the irony of the last line for his Papa though :p

Enjoy your weekend with your loved ones! 🙂
