We are constantly on the lookout for new things to do with the kids every weekend and what could be more perfect than an opportunity to eat, play, drink, shop, for a good cause.
This coming weekend (30 Nov 2014), the Change Movement will be organizing a charity pop-up at Zouk. No no, now don’t close this window yet!! This is perfectly kid friendly! 🙂 The event will be taking place from 2pm to 7pm and there will be tons to do for everyone.
The Change Movement is a pop-up charity fair organised to help raise funds on behalf of Student Advisory Centre, a non-profit dedicated to nurture and support underprivileged children and their families. As part of SG50, the Change Movement is one of the changemakers under the fundraising community 50 For 50 (which helps put 50 lesser-known charities on the map). This local-focused fair brings together at least 50 of the city’s most exciting names from food, beverage, fashion, design, lifestyle, wellness, entertainment, art, and more. In other words, there’ll be plenty of cool things to do, eat, and buy.
Every single one of these businesses will be pledging a percentage of their proceeds from The Change Movement to the Student Advisory Centre. And thats not all, 50 for 50 has roped a corporate donor to match funds raised from this project, and NCSS’s Care & Share Movement, led by Community Chest, will further match, dollar-to-dollar, the total amount from this charity drive.
So what can we do there you say?
There’ll be classes and workshops running throughout the fair, mainly held at Phuture. These include a pop-up yoga session, a capoeira class by Brazilian Cultural Centre, and a two-hour Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu open mat session by Trifecta Martial Arts. Little ones can also look forward to balloon sculpting, airbrush tattooing and art classes onsite.
Spa Esprit’s The Grand Beauty Hotel will also be extending their run and making an appearance at The Change Movement. Oriole Coffee and other local food producers will be there to feed you while fashion and accessories labels will also be part of this charity pop-up to cater to the shopaholics amongst us.
So head on down to Zouk next Sunday (30th Nov 2014) from 2pm to 7pm and be part of the Change Moment! 🙂
