We have been wanting to go for the DC Comics Superheroes Cable Car ride for some time now. Ok I’ll admit, Jah and I have been wanting to go for some time and Joel on the other hand has been hesistant. So given that it was Joel’s birthday, we had to make sure that he felt extra ‘special’ :p
This was JahBella’s first cable car ride and it helped that it was a Superheroes themed one. We purchased our tickets from the Harbourfront Station (you can also opt to purchase your tickets from the Sentosa Imbiah Lookout Station or from Mount Faber Station). A round trip cable car ticket priced at $29 for adults and $18 for children above 3, allows you to loop from your starting point to all the other stations and back. (eg. Harbourfront —- Sentosa —- Mount Faber — Harbourfront). For an additional $10 per person, you will have unlimited rides for the whole day. We decided to go ahead and purchase the Annual Family Membership ($120 for 4 family members) since Jah would be turning 3 soon and we would need to start paying for him. The annual membership also allows you to include your domestic help as 1 of the 4 family members. Love the flexibility!
It is crucial that you download the free DC Comic Superheroes Cable Car app before going for your ride. The app will allow your handphone to ‘read’ the QR codes found in the cable car cabin and you will see the various superheroes in 3D through your handphone. Snap a picture using the app and save your photo with the featured superhero on your camera roll. 🙂 My only complaint is that the app doesn’t allow you to take selfies so it was hard to convince the kids to sit next to ‘Batman’ for a photo when they couldn’t see Batman anywhere.
I was very glad that we purchased the annual membership as it allowed us to take unlimited rides all day. Jah was more than happy to do multiple trips that so that he could try as many different superhero cable cars as possible. We only alighted at Mount Faber this time around and spent some time taking photos with the life sized Superheroes as well as lunch at Spuds & Aprons (will need to do another post for this). I read that there are more activities at the Sentosa station which we might try the next time around. (The DC Comic Superhero Cable Car is on till March 2015) Yes in fact Jah is already asking that we bring him back to take the Green Lantern Cable Car which he missed this time around. 🙂
And I have to say that I totally love rediscovering Singapore with the children!
